About College
Rajashri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College, Kolhapur is a tertiary care Medical College, established in the year 2000 in Kolhapur. It is attached to the historical Chhatrapati Pramilaraje General Hospital (CPR), popularly called as Thorla Davakhana since 1884.
Before BSc Nursing course this college was well renowned back with legacy since 19th century as Training School of Nursing with introduction of the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM), General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) & Lady Health Visitor (LHV) course was introduced to meet the growing demand for trained nurses worldwide.
The college is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. with an intake capacity of 100 BSc. Nursing students. The first affiliation for the academic year 2025-26 was granted by MUHS.
All admissions to the BSc. Nursing undergraduate courses are administered centrally by the Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER). The common Entrance test, called MH - NURSING CET is conducted by Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET- CELL).
